Our agency won another award. What can that actually mean for you?

It’s a fair question: Why should you care that we’re an award-winning agency?

Awards can sometimes feel like the industry just patting itself on the back. Another trophy on the shelf (we’re going to need a bigger shelf ourselves), another photo on social media (I bought another suit just for the award show), a nice moment for our agency. And yes, we’re super proud of the recognition and industry validation. Our work has earned local awards from the NJ Ad Club, national awards from GDUSA Magazine, and international awards from shows like the Davey Awards and the Communicator Awards. But the awards themselves are never the goal.

The awards are evidence that the work was beautiful, strategic, or helped the client reach their goals. Hopefully, all three. A great logo or brand identity should look good, of course, but it also has a job to do. It should help your business look credible, communicate clearly and effectively, stand out against your competitors, and give your customers a reason to remember it. When that logo also wins an award, it can create opportunities for a client that go far beyond the original project.

Legal Ops Fox is a perfect example. As a small, independent, new legal consulting company, they had to be particularly thoughtful about how they budgeted for their branding. That’s how any smart business owner should operate, especially if you don’t have a giant marketing budget. When they chose Brand Force 5 to create their brand identity, they received a logo designed to meet their needs and be distinctive. Then that logo won a Certificate of Excellence, along with other awards we won at the NJ Ad Club.

The awards led to a press release, and that release was picked up all over the country. One especially relevant placement was in the National Law Review, a respected business-to-business legal news publication read by legal professionals. Suddenly, a brand-new legal consulting company had its name and logo appearing in front of exactly the kind of businesses it hopes to reach and attract. That’s the kind of exposure that would have been incredibly difficult and/or expensive to create on its own.

Elevation EMS is another great example. We just received news that Brand Force 5 won a GDUSA Health + Wellness Award for the logo design and brand identity we created for them. That brand identity and logo will appear in the Health + Wellness issue of GDUSA next month, in front of exactly the kind of audience they’re hoping to reach. But the exposure doesn’t stop there. We’ll likely be sending out a press release about this win as well, and it will be distributed within the healthcare industry. As a B2B brand, that is where they want to be seen.

So, the awards are nice. Sure, we love them. But for our clients, they can help create opportunities they may not have been able to create on their own without an award-winning agency. The trophy stays with the agency. The brand, the credibility, and the opportunity stay with the client.
